The appointments committee is a sub-committee of the main District Executive committee and advises the District Commissioner on making and renewing leaders' appointments.
Its members all have long experience as leaders or supporters of Scouting and come from around the District (which minimises travelling and provides local knowledge of the leaders we meet).
The committee meets during the second week of each month, often on a Wednesday at the Usk Scout HQ. The day and venue can be changed to suit leaders' availability - just ask us to change if Wednesday in Usk is inconvenient.
The meetings last for two hours, from 19:30 to 21:30, and we running a fairly basic training session in parallel with the interviews so that new leaders leave with answers to questions that are important to them, for example:
